我向天空伸手

How far is it between us and the star?

I reach up to the sky

Grasping only the cold, empty air

The star in the lake

Ripple, scatter

The moment when I touch the water

The stars in the planetarium

so close, within reach,

but a sign stands before:

"Do Not Touch."

I ask scientist,

How far are the stars from us?

"10,490 kilometers,"

he says with a smile,

then walks away.

I frown,

carrying the doubt with my journey

I walk and walk,

through I may never find the answer—

until, in my search for the stars,

I meet you.

"Do you know how far we are from the stars?"

You smile at me,

say nothing.

In that moment,

I think I’ve found my answer.
