Go Woo-Seok humiliated after failing to last one inning
Go Woo-seok, 26, who has been struggling in the minor leagues, had another poor outing in his first start in a week. He's now allowed runs in three straight games since being demoted to Double-A.
On July 21 (KST), Goh was the fourth pitcher for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Miami) in their Double-A game against the Mississippi Braves (Atlanta Braves) at Pensacola Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida, and struggled, allowing three runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in ⅔ innings. Pensacola lost to Mississippi, 1-5.
It was his first appearance on the mound in over a week after earning a blown save against the Rocket City Trashpandas (of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) on April 14, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings. Entering the game in the top of the ninth inning with Pensacola trailing 2-0, he gave up a leadoff single to right field to Keton Ogans and then allowed a stolen base to put runners on first and second with no outs.
The next batter, Cody Milligan, singled to right, but another stolen base put runners on second and third with no outs. After striking out 토토사이트 Heraldo Quintero on a swinging strikeout, Kouzuk seemed to take a breather, but Sebastian Rivero singled to right to put runners on first and third with two outs.
With runners on first and second, Koo got Bryson Horne to ground out to second base for the second out. However, the next batter, Brandon Parker, gave up a double down the right-field line to score the third run. All four of the hits he allowed on the day came on balls hit to the right side of the infield by right-handed hitters.
With the bases loaded and two outs, he induced a ground ball to end the inning, but the second baseman failed to make the throw in one motion and the runner reached first on a throwing error that allowed the runner to score. He was unable to get out of the inning and was replaced by Justin King with runners on first and third. King didn't allow a runner to reach base, keeping Goh's run at four.
After signing a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the San Diego Padres in January, Koo began the 2024 season in Double-A after going 2-2 with a 12.60 ERA in six exhibition games.
After going 2-2 with a 4.38 ERA in 10 games with the San Antonio Missions (San Diego affiliate), Gausman was acquired by Miami in a four-way trade (Gausman, Dylan Head, Jacob Masi, Nathan Matorella for Luis Araez) on May 5, and then went through a tumultuous time, being designated for assignment by Miami on May 31, clearing waivers, and being optioned to the minors on June 5.
Given a chance with Miami's Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbos, Gouwsek failed to rebound, going 2-1 with a 4.29 ERA in 16 appearances. Eventually, he was optioned to Double-A Pensacola on Dec. 12, and has since fallen into a terrible slump, giving up runs in all three of his starts and posting an ERA of 23.63 (8 runs, 7 earned, in 2⅔ innings). His position became even more precarious when he was removed from the game after failing to complete an inning in his last outing (Nov. 21).
